How-To: CTRL + ALT + DEL in Remote Desktop   Leave a comment

When you try to reset administrator or any user password on windows server from manage-user/groups it warns that password reset from the mmc console could lead to data loss, instead use Ctrl + Alt + Del and change password.

Well thats easy when you are hooked on to the console physically.
But what about when you are administering the server remotely, i had to figure out how to Ctrl + Alt + Del with RDP.

When working on vmware you can send Ctrl + Alt + Ins, with virtualbox/virtual  there is menu item to send the keystrokes on to the virtual box. Go to the Action menu and select the Ctrl + Alt + Del.

Starting with Ctrl + Alt + (Del / Ins / Home & End) voila Ctrl + Alt + End worked.
Is not it non-intuitive, it worked…
